Working for HMS Care as a Live In Care Assistant means you will be part of one of the North East’s leading providers of home care.
The Live In Care Assistant role is fundamentally different to the Home Care Assistant role in that you will join the family in their home and provide the care as an extended member of the household. You must be able to use your friendly and caring nature to form a bond with the person receiving care, regardless of their background, culture, personality or behaviour.
The Live In care packages are provided for customers who want the additional reassurance of round the clock support in the comfort their own homes. Be assured that this is not a 24 hours 7 days a week job as you will have pre-arranged rest periods.
Live In Care Assistants need to demonstrate emotional resilience and stamina. HMS’s customers include people with a wide range of physical and emotional needs. You could be caring for a person at the end of their life or a person that has had a serious accident and is physically disabled. The necessity to be able to keep calm and think clearly whilst under pressure is essential.
Previous experience of social care is definitely an advantage, but not always necessary as we provide full training and support. The selection of the Care Assistant applicant is key to the HMS brand promise to provide the best home care through promotion of individuality and choice – ‘My Care My Home My Choice’. To help you to deliver on that customer focused service we provide training and ongoing field supervision. We also promote staff development to help care assistants specialise into areas of interest such as palliative or dementia care. We offered a tailored career pathway to help you develop skills and progress as the business grows.
